Transfer from Sofia to Bansko

Bansko is the number one ski destination in the Balkans, and the way there is the least glamorous part of the holiday. Two and a half hours from Sofia, and in winter sometimes three.

This is the route where it pays not to be clever. The road to Bansko runs through the mountains, in January and February it is snowed under, and a rental car without winter tyres is a real problem, not a footnote. We have seen enough travellers book a cheap car and find that out halfway up the mountain.

The transfer costs €168 per car. Our drivers run this road all winter, the car is fit for snow and gear, and if you are coming as a family of four with ski gear, it simply works out cheaper than four tickets and a taxi from the station.
