Transfer from Burgas and Burgas Airport to Sunny Beach and Nessebar

In summer, holiday flights land at Burgas Airport, and Sunny Beach and Nessebar are just up the coast. Nessebar's old town, on a rocky peninsula, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Sunny Beach is the resort right next to it. From Burgas city it is about 36 km and 40 minutes by car; from the airport the drive is a little shorter.

We will say it plainly: there is a bus, and it runs all day. According to Burgasbus, the city's bus company, buses to Nessebar and Sunny Beach leave Burgas South (Yug) bus station every day from 06:10 to 22:05, more than 40 departures a day. Burgasbus publishes the timetable without a date and warns that it can change, so check it before you travel.

From the airport, city bus 15 runs between Terminal 2 and Yug bus station, where you change to the coast bus. With suitcases and children, that is two buses and a change in between.

The transfer costs €39 per car, not per person, for up to 4 passengers and 2 suitcases; a large van takes up to 8 passengers and 8 suitcases, and a bigger group can book two. Give your flight number when you book, and the driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign. You enter the exact pickup, the airport or your address in Burgas, and your hotel in Sunny Beach or Nessebar, and the price for those addresses is shown before you pay. Child seats can be requested when booking, with each child's age and height.

For a couple with a backpack each, the bus does the job. For a family landing with suitcases and children, or a flight that lands after the last coast bus has left, the transfer is the simple choice. You pay 20% online by card and the rest in cash to the driver at the end of the ride; bring the exact amount, as drivers need not give change. Cancellation is free up to 3 days before the ride.
