Water Parks in Bulgaria: Nessebar, Sunny Beach, Albena
Water parks in Bulgaria: Aquapark Nessebar, Action in Sunny Beach and Aquamania near Varna, with 2026 prices, height rules, seasons and transport.

The best water parks in Bulgaria are all on the Black Sea coast: Aquapark Nessebar (also known as Aqua Paradise) between Nessebar and Ravda, Action Aquapark in Sunny Beach, and Aquamania in the Albena resort, about 40 km north of Varna. In summer 2026 a full day adult ticket cost between €19 and €42, children up to 90 cm went in free, and the season ran roughly from mid May or mid June to mid or late September. If you land in Sofia and want to head straight for the Nessebar parks, a private transfer from Sofia Airport to Nessebar starts at €317 per car (up to 4 passengers) and takes about four hours.

One thing to know up front: we do not sell water park tickets. You buy them at the gate or on each park's own website; what we can arrange is the transfer, the car and the hotel. All prices are in euro, since Bulgaria adopted the euro on 1 January 2026. Ticket prices come from the parks' official 2026 price lists, checked on 16 October 2026. Our transfer prices were read from our booking system the same day and can change. No park has published 2027 dates or prices yet.

Every park lets children up to 90 cm in free. Height, not age, decides which ticket you pay for, so measure the kids before you travel. Aquapark Nessebar and Action sell afternoon tickets from 14:30, and Aquamania a half day ticket from 14:00.
Aquapark Nessebar (Aqua Paradise)
This is the park most people mean when they search for Aquapark Nessebar or Aqua Paradise: a big water park that covers 44,000 m² by its own figures. It sits on the road between Nessebar and Ravda, and its official address is in the village of Ravda, so put the park's name into your maps app rather than "Nessebar", which will send you to the old town at the other end.
- 2026 season and hours: 25 May to 13 September, daily 10:00 to 18:00; afternoon tickets from 14:30.
- Gate prices: adults, or children over 130 cm, €42 for a full day and €33 for the afternoon. Children 91 to 130 cm and visitors over 65: €32 and €25. Up to 90 cm free.
- Included: sunbeds and umbrellas while they last, shows, free parking (120 spaces; €7 for up to 12 hours in the paid car park when it is full) and free transport from Sunny Beach, Sveti Vlas, Elenite, Nessebar and Ravda.
- Slide rules: the fast slides need a minimum height of 130 cm, and the most extreme ones 150 cm and age 14. On several slides, children under 130 cm can only ride with an adult, and weight limits apply too.
Younger children get two zones of their own: an island with mini versions of the big slides, and a children's pool with colourful slides and a water mushroom. A wave pool, a lazy river and a spa pool keep non sliders busy. The park's online deals are sold on its website only, not at the cash desk.
Action Aquapark, Sunny Beach
Action Aquapark sits on the western edge of Sunny Beach, has run since 2003 and bills itself as Bulgaria's first water park. It is smaller than the Nessebar park, with extreme slides, family slides, a kids' area with a water castle, jacuzzis, bars and a food court. Prices change through the season:
- Peak season, 16 June to 3 September: €37 over 130 cm; €23 for children 90 to 130 cm and visitors over 65. A family ticket for two adults and two children is €111.60. Open 10:00 to 18:00; afternoon tickets from 14:30 at €30 and €18.
- 4 to 15 June and 4 to 15 September: €30 and €18, open 10:00 to 17:00.
- 18 May to 3 June and 16 to 28 September: €39 and €25. In these weeks you enter through the reception of the neighbouring Aqua Nevis hotel, and a buffet lunch plus drinks from the lobby bar are included.
The shuttle is free for ticket holders, with stops across Sunny Beach, Sveti Vlas and Nessebar (one is by the old town). In peak season it runs every 20 minutes, to the park between 9:45 and 12:00 and between 13:00 and 15:00, and back between 15:30 and 18:00. From Elenite and Ravda, rides to the park run only on request for groups of six or more. Worth knowing: some slides run in rotation and close between 12:30 and 13:30, some rides are not suitable for guests over 120 kg, and there are no refunds for bad weather.
Water parks near Varna: Aquamania in Albena
Varna itself has no large water park. Today, a Varna water park day means Aquamania in the Albena resort, north of the city.
Aquamania, Albena
Albena's park, about 40 km north of Varna, covers 30,000 m² and takes up to 1,000 visitors. In 2026 it opened on 16 June and ran daily from 10:00 to 18:00 until mid September. Expect a four lane racing slide, a family raft slide, a free fall slide, a lazy river and a wild river, plus a kids' zone with gentle slides and shallow water. Prices from Albena's official site:
- July and August: over 120 cm €27 on weekdays and €28 at weekends; children 91 to 120 cm €14 and €16. Half day from 14:00: €21 to €22 for adults.
- Second half of June and early September: €19 on weekdays and €25 at weekends for adults; €11 and €14 for children. Albena's opening announcement quoted about €25 for weekdays too, so check the price at the gate before you go.
Guests of some Albena hotels on all inclusive packages get in free.
Aquapolis, Golden Sands
Aquapolis, the old water park in Golden Sands about 15 km from Varna, no longer operates as a water park. In July 2026, Varna's official tourism website described it as an abandoned aqua park when it hosted a music festival on the site, and the park's own website carries a notice that it is closed to visitors. Do not plan a family day around it: the nearest working park is Aquamania in Albena.
Varna Dolphinarium
Not a water park, but often on the same family list: Varna's dolphinarium has run since 1984 in the city's Sea Garden near the promenade, with dolphin shows all year, every day except Monday. By its own price list, an adult ticket costs €26 in summer (15 June to 15 September) and €14 to €19 the rest of the year, and children aged 2 to 12 pay €11 to €23. Show times change with the season, so check them before you go.

- Height rules everything: up to 90 cm is free everywhere. Child prices apply up to 130 cm in Nessebar, Action and Sofia, but only up to 120 cm at Aquamania. Most fast slides need 130 cm.
- Supervision: at Action, children under 8 need an adult aged 16 or over with them in the water, and one adult can be responsible for no more than two of them. Children under 10 must be accompanied in the pool.
- For the little ones: Nessebar and Aquamania have the biggest kids' zones. With toddlers, an afternoon ticket is cheaper and usually enough.
- When to go: July and August are busy. Late May, early June and September bring shorter queues, and at Action lower prices on some dates.
All inclusive hotels with their own slides and water parks are a separate subject; this guide sticks to the parks open to everyone.
The biggest water park in Bulgaria
There is no official ranking. Going by what the parks publish, Aquapark Nessebar is the largest by area at 44,000 m², against 36,000 m² at Action and 30,000 m² at Aquamania. Action gives 36,000 m² and more than 30 attractions, with a 20 metre slide tower. For the most extreme slides, go to Nessebar; for a calmer, well organised day with small children, Aquamania works very well.
Indoor water parks in Bulgaria and the Sofia water park
The honest answer: we found no indoor water park with slides open to the public all year in Bulgaria. Every park in this guide is outdoors and closes in September.
In summer, Sofia has the Vazrazhdane aqua park in Vazrazhdane Park on the west side of the city. In 2026 it opened in mid June, and by its own site it runs 9:00 to 19:00 in season. Weekdays cost €17 over 130 cm and €10 for children 91 to 130 cm, weekends €20 and €13, with cheaper afternoon tickets. Its slides are only for guests over 130 cm and up to 110 kg, so think of it as a pool complex with a few slides rather than a full water park. The same complex has an indoor pool open all year, 7:00 to 23:00, at €8.50 a visit. More ideas for the capital are in our guide to Sofia with kids.
Outside the season, the realistic way to swim indoors is to stay at a hotel with an indoor pool. At Rosslyn Dimyat in Varna, the heated indoor pool and spa are included in every stay, and at the Grand Hotel & Spa Primoretz in Burgas the indoor pool and saunas of its 3,000 m² spa are included as well.
When are the water parks open? The 2027 season
None of the parks has published summer 2027 dates yet. Recent years follow a steady pattern: Action and Aquapark Nessebar open in stages from mid or late May, Aquamania and the Sofia park in mid June, and all of them close between mid and late September. Early and late in the season some rides may be closed, and every park reserves the right to change hours because of the weather. For sea temperatures and when outdoor swimming is pleasant, month by month, see our guide to Black Sea weather.
Getting to the water parks and where to stay
The two big parks, Nessebar and Action, are about 35 to 40 km from Burgas, and both run free shuttles from Sunny Beach, Sveti Vlas and Nessebar. From Burgas, a private transfer from Burgas to Nessebar starts at €39 per car and takes about 40 minutes; from there the park shuttles take over. See our hotels in Burgas. You can also do a Nessebar park day from Varna: a private transfer from Varna to Nessebar starts at €86 per car, about one hour 50 minutes each way.
For Aquamania, base yourself in or around Varna; the full list is under hotels in Varna. With children and several parks over a few days, a rental car gives you the most freedom, especially for Albena, where we found no park shuttle from Varna.
If you are in Nessebar anyway, see the old town in the evening after a day at the park; our Nessebar Old Town guide covers it. For the evening, the sunset cruise from Nessebar is an hour at sea with views of the old town, at €78 per person: you pay 20% online and the rest to the host at the end of the cruise. For everything else in the resort around Action, read our Sunny Beach guide, and for the whole coast from Varna to Sozopol, our Black Sea coast guide. Ideas for a full family trip are in five family itineraries for Bulgaria.
