Spa Hotels in Sofia: Indoor Pools, Hours and Day Passes
Spa hotels in Sofia with an indoor pool: which hotels really have one, children's hours, and what a spa day pass costs if you stay elsewhere.

For a spa hotel in Sofia with a proper indoor pool, three five star hotels in the centre stand out, and we sell all three: Grand Hotel Millennium, with a panoramic salt water pool inside a 3,500 m² spa, Sense Hotel by the Parliament, where the pool, sauna and steam bath are free for every guest, and Hyatt Regency on Vasil Levski Square, with an indoor hydrotherapy pool. The biggest pools with a published length are in hotels we do not sell: 25 metres at Victoria Spa in the Ramada and 20 metres at the Marinela. Staying somewhere without a pool? Most of these spas sell day entry, from €13 for the pool at the Marinela to €49 for three hours at the Millennium.

Every fact here, from pool sizes and opening hours to children's rules and entry prices, was read on the hotels' and spas' official websites on 28 October 2026. Prices are in euro, Bulgaria's currency since 1 January 2026, and they are the spas' own desk prices, which can change. There are no room rates on purpose: for the hotels on MakeYourTravel you pick your dates, send a request and get the price for those dates.
Sofia hotels with a pool: the comparison

5 star spa hotels in Sofia that we sell
Grand Hotel Millennium: a huge spa, charged separately
A tower at the top of Vitosha Boulevard, behind the National Palace of Culture. The spa covers 3,500 m² with views of the park and Vitosha mountain: a panoramic salt water pool, hydromassage hot tubs, a marine salt bath, a steam bath, a panoramic Finnish sauna, an infrared sauna, a herbal sauna, a hammam and a lounge with floating beds. The one thing to know before you book: according to the hotel's FAQ, spa access is not included in the room rate. Hotel guests pay the same €49 for up to three hours, and it is free only in the Signature, Executive and Millennium suites. Robes, towels and slippers are provided, swimwear is required in every public area, you shower before entering the water, and outside food and drink are not allowed. It is run as a quiet zone, with phones on silent.
Sense Hotel: the pool is free for every guest
A 71 room design hotel on Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard, a minute from the Parliament and close to Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. According to the hotel's own site, every guest gets free access to Sense Wellness: the pool, the sauna and the steam bath. It is open daily from 09:00 to 20:00 and treatments need booking in advance. Plan around one rule: children under 14 may use only the pool and the hot and cold tubs, with an adult, and only between 09:00 and 12:00. If you want quiet, go after midday; if you have children, swim in the morning. Sense does not publish day entry for people staying elsewhere.
Hyatt Regency: hydrotherapy pool and a full thermal area
Opened in 2020 on Vasil Levski Square, a short walk from the cathedral. Its spa, Ortus Wellness, is open daily from 09:00 to 21:00. The thermal area has a Finnish sauna, a bio sauna, a steam bath, a salt room, an ice fountain, experience showers and a relaxation area, next to an indoor hydrotherapy pool. The hotel calls it a hydrotherapy pool and does not publish its length, so if swimming lengths matters, the only published lengths in the city are Victoria's and the Marinela's. Children under 16 may use the pool only from 09:00 to 12:00 and are not allowed in the gym or the thermal area. Swimwear or a towel is required everywhere. The site does not say whether spa access comes with the room, so ask when you send your request.
InterContinental: a spa without a pool
The InterContinental facing the Parliament is an excellent five star hotel, but not for pool lovers. Its official amenities page lists the Hexaya Health and Wellness spa, massages and treatments, and a gym open around the clock, with no pool. Our page for the hotel also lists a floatation pod, a sauna and a steam bath. Sofia Balkan Palace, which we also sell, shows only a fitness room on its website, with no pool or spa.
All our hotels in the city are in one list on hotels in Sofia. For location, breakfast and the honest downsides of the Millennium, Sense, Hyatt, Marinela and Anel, see our guide to hotels in Sofia.
Hotels in Sofia with a pool that we do not sell
- Ramada and Victoria Spa: the spa inside the hotel at 131 Maria Luiza Boulevard is a large centre that locals use too: a 25 × 12 m indoor pool with a built in jacuzzi, a children's pool, two saunas, a steam bath, a hammam and a salt room. We do not sell the hotel, but we do sell the spa, in the package below.
- Hotel Marinela: a huge five star hotel in Lozenets, about 3 km from the centre, with a 20 m indoor pool kept at 29 °C. According to the hotel, the pool and gym are free for hotel guests, and the spa and massages cost extra. Check the hours: the health club's site says 08:00 to 22:00 every day, the hotel's site says 08:00 to 21:00.
- Hotel Anel: on Todor Alexandrov Boulevard, with an 18 m indoor pool and a thermal zone. As of 28 October 2026 the hotel's site says the pool is temporarily closed because of a breakdown, with no reopening date. If the pool is why you chose Anel, check with them before booking.
- Maison Sofia: an MGallery boutique hotel in Lozenets, about 3.5 km from the centre according to Accor, with an indoor pool, a sauna and a steam room. It publishes no size or hours.
Spa day pass in Sofia when you stay somewhere else
A common question: can you pay to use a hotel spa in Sofia while sleeping in an apartment or a hotel without a pool? Yes, and in some places it is cheap. These are the spas' own published prices, from lowest to highest:
- Marinela: €13 for a single pool visit, €11 for a child, and €23 for the pool with the spa. Tickets are sold on site.
- Victoria at the Ramada: €25 on weekdays and €30 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, for 180 minutes, covering the pool, the thermal zone and the gym. Pool entry for children under 14 costs €15.
- Anel: €15 for the pool, €28 for the thermal zone and €35 for both, but the pool is closed for now.
- Hyatt Regency: a €39 day pass, or €33 if you go between 09:00 and 15:00, covering the hydrotherapy pool, saunas, steam bath, salt room and gym.
- Millennium: €49 for up to three hours in the aqua and thermal area. The hotel's own online shop sells the same visit as a €49 voucher for one person, and the spa sells a 12 visit card valid for three months, so you can come without staying at the hotel. Call the spa on +359 2 445 70 50, the number on its spa menu, before you go.
- Sense: no published day entry for people staying elsewhere.
Prefer to have it all arranged? Our Victoria Spa package at the Ramada, €125 per person, includes a 30 minute hammam, a 60 minute classic massage, pool and thermal access and a one way ride from your hotel or apartment. Every pool in this guide is indoors, so all of them work in December and January. Only two publish the water temperature: Victoria, 29.3 °C in summer and 30 °C in winter, and the Marinela, 29 °C. The Millennium, Sense, Hyatt and Anel give no figure. If you feel the cold, a spa with a proper thermal area, saunas and a steam bath, as at the Millennium, the Hyatt and Victoria, matters more than one degree in the water.
Best spa hotel in Sofia for you: what to check before booking
- Is the spa included in the room rate? At Sense, yes. At the Marinela, the pool and gym yes, the spa no. At the Millennium, no, except in three suites. The Hyatt does not say, so ask.
- Children's hours: Sense and the Hyatt allow children in the pool only from 09:00 to 12:00, the Millennium only from 10:00 to 13:00 and 16:00 to 18:00. At Victoria, under 14s can swim but not enter the thermal zone.
- Time limit: entry at Victoria and the Millennium is for three hours; the Hyatt sells a day pass.
- Swim cap: required at Victoria, the Marinela and Anel, and sold on site at Victoria and Anel. The others do not say, so pack one.
- What to bring: swimwear everywhere. The Millennium provides a robe, towel and slippers. The Millennium and the Hyatt require a shower before you go in.
- Weekends and holidays: at Victoria, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays cost €30 instead of €25. Christmas in Bulgaria is a long weekend this year, 24 to 28 December, so expect busier pools.
A hotel with a pool in Sofia for a family trip
In a Sofia winter, the pool is what saves a cold afternoon. The catch is that the luxury hotels let children into the water only in the morning. If your children want to swim in the afternoon, Victoria at the Ramada, with a children's pool and swimming lessons through the day, and the Marinela, with an €11 child ticket, are the more flexible choice. If you stay at Sense, the Hyatt or the Millennium, plan the pool for the morning and the sightseeing for the afternoon.
Arriving, and hot springs outside the city
For any of the central hotels, a private transfer from Sofia Airport to the city centre costs from €30 per car, up to 4 passengers, about 25 minutes. And if you want real hot mineral water, that means leaving Sofia: we compare every Bulgarian spa town in our guide to hot springs in Bulgaria.
The bottom line
For a spa hotel in Sofia with a real spa inside, the Millennium has a huge and quiet one, but budget €49 per person for entry. Sense gives every guest a free pool and sauna in the most central location. The Hyatt suits anyone who wants a full thermal area in a new hotel. And if you are staying elsewhere and simply want to swim, the Marinela and Victoria at the Ramada have the largest and cheapest pools in this guide, and both sell entry to anyone.
