An authentic 8-day small group ecotourism experience exploring mountain village life at the base of Piatra Craiului National Park and Bucegi Natural Park in the Transylvanian Carpathians, Romania. The tour blends cultural exploration with outdoor adventure, taking you through medieval Brasov, the legendary Bran Castle, and traditional villages including Magura, Pestera, Sirnea, Fundata, and Fundatica. Daily hikes of moderate difficulty reveal dramatic limestone gorges, alpine meadows, waterfalls, and sheep farms. Accommodation is in cozy traditional village guesthouses with homemade meals. The itinerary culminates with a thrilling visit to 7 Ladders Canyon before returning to Brasov for a farewell dinner. Day 1: Arrival in Brasov with optional evening walking tour and welcome dinner. Day 2: Visit Bran Castle and hike from Bran village to Magura village through forests and meadows (8 km, 4-6 hours). Day 3: Trek through Piatra Craiului National Park, cross Zarnesti Gorges, and reach Curmatura hut at 1470m (16 km, 5-6 hours). Day 4: Walk through villages at the foothills including Magura, Pestera, Sirnea, Ciocanu, and Fundata (15 km, 5-6 hours). Day 5: Explore Fundata and Fundatica villages with panoramic views of Bucegi and Piatra Craiului (10 km, 4-5 hours). Day 6: Full-day hike in Bucegi Natural Park, discover the Devil's Mill Waterfall and visit a local sheep farm (14 km, 5-6 hours). Day 7: Adventure in 7 Ladders Canyon carved into Jurassic limestone with seven waterfalls, then farewell dinner in Brasov (8 km, 4-5 hours). Day 8: Transfer to airport with optional extra night in Bucharest including panoramic city tour.
