Kovachevitsa, a protected architectural reserve, is a living museum of 18th and 19th-century Bulgarian craftsmanship. Here, time has stopped. The houses are built entirely of stone – including the roofs – with only the tallest building featuring a wooden top floor, a subtle nod to the past. Wander through cobblestone streets and feel the spirit of the National Revival period in every corner. After exploring Kovachevitsa, we continue to the charming village of Leshten, known for its beautifully restored houses that preserve the authentic atmosphere of the 18th and 19th centuries. Around 15 traditional homes have been carefully brought back to life, many now offering cozy guestrooms for travelers seeking a true escape. Here, you'll have time to stroll, take photos, and soak in the peaceful views. We'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant serving traditional Bulgarian cuisine – hearty, homemade, and full of flavor. Afterward, enjoy some free time to browse for souvenirs – handmade crafts, local products, and unique gifts for friends and family.
